Sheelanagig - Shetlag
Переглядів 4208 років тому
Sheelanagig have become something of a West Country institution for the past decade. A quintet with a well-stocked armoury of stringed instruments - banjo, fiddle, double bass and more- and a bagful of joint-jumping tunes, these boys sure know how to get a party started. Putting both stomp and skank into gypsy-flavoured tunes from the Balkans and beyond, it’s difficult - nay, impossible - for y...
Rosie Eade Band - Ashamed
Переглядів 3778 років тому
Inspired by Kate Bush and The Who as much as Steeleye Span, Rosie sings life inspired stories written over many years gigging solo around the country, from a party in a field to Glastonbury’s Avalon Café, arranged around her love of folk, rock and thrashing her old guitar. This dual passion shines through in her new album Battlestorm, which tells of the many battles and conflicts, emotional and...

Ayala - Magpie

Ayala’s debut album This Year was produced between LA and London by Fabio BOI Angelini (Pink), Juan Luis Ayala (Gabrielle), and Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse, Laura Mvula) and is a beautiful blend of British pop with folk and blues as well as touches of the more exotic Mexican/Latin flavours. Plans for 2016 include the release of a duet with the multi-platinum selling artist Gilbert O’Sullivan on ...

Blackbeard’s Tea Party - The Ballad Of William Kidd
Переглядів 2718 років тому
Voted best band at last year’s Cropredy Convention, and named the band to see at Glastonbury by the Huffington Post, 2014 also saw Blackbeard’s Tea Party make a huge impact on the festival circuit. Traditional songs and folk tunes are given a heavy rock edge with playful arrangements and driving dance rhythms. This is all mixed up in an engaging, high-octane stage show that frequently leaves au...

Danni Nicholls - Mockingbird Lane
Переглядів 1528 років тому
The UK’s Danni Nicholls is a classic songwriter. Rooted in Americana, she “slips effortlessly between smoky soul, folk-pop and heart-wrenching alt-country” (Q magazine) all in a rich voice which has been described as ‘one in a million’ (Maverick Music Magazine). Her second full-length album Mockingbird Lane - recorded in Nashville with some of America’s finest musicians - is due for release 23 ...

His Thumb is blue..... great anyway!
Tommy blows your mind, then you start learning his songs and he humbles you to a greater degree than the amazement. There are no words in the English language that expresses how from outer-space his playing is. Throw in his understanding of chords, attacks and percussive elements, and you're dealing with about as ferocious an animal as there is lol
Tommy's the nicest fella I never met.
Lots of love there. Great interview.
I could listen to Ed Gerhard all day...
Great interview if I could have heard it . Ya think the production company could have actually mic'd up Glen and Chris and maybe told everyone else to STFU so you wouldn't hear them in the background talking . The white noise from outside didn't help any . Lots of automobile traffic outside .
🍒 @, 23:16, b-4 my eve meds kick'inn, just a thanks! Mr. T. E. is so blessed & his music brings joy✝️
I'm 50% Welsh ancestry forever is on my bucket list to go to Wales and find birthplaces. Fathers biological looking for relatives Western and Eastern European finding DNA leads Viking Norwegian Jewish Poland Siberian Egypt. I am obsessed with trying to learn languages Welsh Hebrew Norwegian German Russian the music is so similar in sound and similar word meaning is different languages my Welsh grandmother played the harp our little granddaughter plays the violin.
Shockingly bad review, if you can't make one of these guitars sound good just give up. It helps if it's in tune to start with though.
Albert Lee to me is up there with the best
So even Tommy still gets buzzing noises from the strings!
6:30 His thumb's going blue!
Tommy is the man!
I had the same moment with a thumb pick and a bossa nova tune!
The guitar marks speaks Tommy's sweats, pain and struggle to find a perfect rhythm.. Cheers..!
Ever try a heavy tie rap
Brilliance
Just got done telling my son about this legend and had to share the song.
🐐
Please pray for Tommy Emmanuel........Due to all the unnecessary head bopping he is in extreme pain whilst playing guitar! Get well Tommy...we love you!
I got to see Tommy play in someone's living room after one of his concerts. I was young and ignorant my dad took me in my early guitar playing years. Now I understand how amazing he is.
Thank you for letting Tommy do the talking
What can anyone say about Tommy? He is absolutely amazing. I just wish the interviewer was a little more lively.
Great ❤
King Tommy Emmanuel ❤️
Ottimo lavoro. Grazie di questa condivisione. Pollice alto!!
Manzanita Fan says Aloha 🏝️🏝️🏝️🏝️🏝️🏝️
I never get tired of Tommy.
Magic man, makes the instrument come alive!!
Nzinn73 I went to one of his workshops when I was younger and was a bit starstruck. He is a genuinely kind and patient person.
This is just incredible. I can barely change my guitar strings and play a couple of songs and this man has got the whole instrument figured out. Always a pleasure to watch him
I gave up on nails too . When i shower i wear rubber gloves with elastic bands around them. I wash my hands quickly .
Real talent and a wonderful fella
To hell with the Dixie Chicks, and now, to hell with Darrell Scott. The Dixie Chicks badmouthed the US President and the state of Texas on a foreign stage, then went on all the liberal talk shows playing the victim. "Country Music" didn't turn its back on them; the millions of fans she insulted did. You don't get to attack your fan base and then cry when they don't want to support you anymore.
Excellent interview!
Clearly Tommy is from another dimension and probably an alien as we all know no such entity is humanly possible, I’ve seen Chet look upon Tom with an eye grounded in awe and admiration.
Tommys hands are gigantic
This is such a great song! I love that he (the songwriter) mentions Mary Gauthier as a good country musician.
Hark, I hear a mute! 🙂
Yeah !! And there are a lot of us out here who feel the same way. Tired of those "stadium" performers, and love Tim O'B, Jerry D, Tony R, Alison K, the Chicks - and Darrell S !!
It always puzzles me how he seems to consider that the development of fingerpicking is defined by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. That leaves out such a lot.
That J-55 has that nasty hollow plastic bridge with which Gibson built their guitars in the early to mid 60s. Nobody knows why....
Brilliant player and what a guy!👏👏👏
I know people must think I'm crazy when they see my long nails on right hand and neat nails on the fretting hand
Stunning..
bought one today to replace my old fender. the tone is gorgeous, this guitar feels several leagues nicer than the price suggests
Eye have a box with about 75 picks in it Tommy u be great 👍 👌 me not and I been playing since 1966
The best interviewer I’ve ever seen . Let’s the musician talk and doesn’t butt in .
Do like me : never shower, never wash dishes.
Such a meaningful song beautifully sang by a lovely talented couple
